General Banking

I live in Nigeria. Can I still open an account with FidBank UK?+

Yes. Customers outside the UK may be able to open an account with FidBank UK, subject to the Bank’s account opening requirements.

You will need to complete the relevant application process and provide acceptable proof of identity and proof of address.

How do I order a new cheque book?+

Please contact Customer Services by email or telephone and the team will guide you through the request.

What should I do if I lose my cheque book?+

Contact FidBank UK as soon as possible so that the cheque book can be cancelled and appropriate steps can be taken to protect your account.

How is interest calculated on my account?+

Credit interest is generally calculated daily on the cleared account balance at the close of business, using the published rate for your account.

Where tax is deducted from interest, the amount deducted will normally be shown on your statement when the interest is credited.

When is interest credited to my account?+

Interest is normally credited on the last working day of each month.

For fixed deposits, interest is usually credited when the deposit matures.

How safe are direct debits?+

Direct debit payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme. If a payment is made incorrectly, you may be entitled to a refund under the scheme.

How do I send money abroad?+

You will need to provide full beneficiary details, including the beneficiary’s name, address and bank information.

You may also need to provide the purpose and nature of the payment. FidBank UK will make every effort to process valid payment instructions promptly.

How much do I need to open an account?+

Minimum opening deposit requirements may apply and can vary depending on the type of account and currency.

Please contact Customer Services or review the relevant account opening information before applying.

Will I receive account statements?+

Yes. Statements are provided at a frequency agreed with the Bank. This is usually monthly, depending on the account and customer arrangement.

How do I make a complaint?+

FidBank UK is committed to providing a high standard of service. If something goes wrong, please contact us so that we can investigate and respond.

Debit Cards

How do I activate my card?+

You can activate your card through the FidBank card support mobile app where available, or by following the card activation instructions provided to you.

You may be asked to enter card security information, such as the CVV on the back of your card.

How do I get the PIN for my card?+

PIN access instructions will be provided through the card support process. You may be able to view your PIN securely through the card support app after completing the required verification steps.

Can I block my card to prevent fraudulent use?+

Yes. If your card has been lost, stolen or compromised, contact the Bank or card support immediately.

Where available, the card support app may also allow you to block or control card usage.
