Open Banking at FidBank UK

Open Banking gives customers a secure way to share account information or initiate payments through authorised third-party providers, only with customer consent.

Open Banking

Learn how Open Banking works, how consent is managed and how regulated third-party providers may connect to accounts.

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking provides a secure way for authorised third-party providers to access banking information or initiate payments, but only with your permission.

It is designed to give customers more choice, control and transparency when using financial services.

Who can access my account?

Only companies that are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority can use Open Banking to connect to your account.

If a provider is not authorised, FidBank UK will not permit them to access your account through Open Banking.

How consent works

  • You remain in control of what you share.
  • A third-party provider must explain what data it needs and why.
  • You will be redirected to FidBank UK’s secure login process to verify your identity.
  • The provider can only access the information you agree to share and only for the period you authorise.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time.

Information that may be shared

  • Account details such as sort code, account number and account name.
  • Transaction history and balances.
  • Permission to initiate payments from your account, where authorised by you.

Your rights and protections

  • You decide what to share, with whom and for how long.
  • Third-party providers should never see your login details.
  • The same fraud protections apply as if you were using online banking directly.
  • If an unauthorised transaction takes place, we will investigate in line with applicable rules and account terms.

For developers

Regulated third-party providers can access developer information, sandbox access and onboarding details through the FidBank UK Open Banking developer portals.
